Mike Jedlicka's Downtempo Mix Series

The Mixes

All mixes were recorded on 2 turntables using 100% vinyl without editing other than track splicing, unless otherwise noted. The mp3s are listed as Artist- Album instead of listing the individual song names to facilitate you to check out the entire album. I love the artists mixed, and I highly recommend you buy their CDs/vinyl to support them. Contact me if you have any questions ...

PRA Podcast 11/13/06 (It's raining now in Portland)

My mix for the start of the rainy season here in Portland, OR. I did this live for my weekly radio show on Portland Radio Authority. The entire show is just one track through, so there's no track names. As always, you can contact me if you'd like a playlist. It's also pretty low quality, but I thank PRA for recording and Tables Turned for hosting our podcasts.

Downtempo #12 (S.O.M.A.D.)
320 kbps, 208 MB

26 tracks recorded from a mix I played for one of my last broadcasts during summer of 2006 on Portland Radio Authority. It's the longest mix so far, and the most conceptual of my mixes being a direct correlation of that summer's events and emotions.

Downtempo #11

The only mix from Tallahassee, recorded during my first year at FSU. I then took a 2 year break from DJing to finish my masters and work on what became Leaving Baja. I added an early version of "Place I Hide" from A Movie Without Pictures EP to the very end of the set which was not mixed.

Ambient Set w/ Electric Blanket

I played this set on 3 turntables live as an opener to the 7/5/03 Greg Davis, Lullatone, and e-rock show in Iowa City, IA. It's 100% ambient and just one track long, so the individual tracks are not listed. Electric Blanket played 2nd which begins around 25 minutes through the mix. He played more of an electro set.

Downtempo #10

This was my last studio recording from Iowa. After track 16 the mix goes purely ambient, giving it a sleepy finish. A track I produced for a Dick and Jane Record's vinyl compilation "Selective Retrospective Part 2" can be found early in the mix.

Downtempo #9
320 kbps, 125 MB
Download .zip here

DT #9 is much more of an upbeat mix, especially towards the end. I explored IDM and experimental music for a good chunk of this show played at Gabe's Oasis in Iowa City for Rotation.

Downtempo #8
192 kbps, 102 MB
Download .zip here

This may be my favorite mix that I've recorded, spun live in the Green Room in Iowa City. It's a nice compilation of tracks and genres that changes often with smooth transitions. Enjoy ...

More mixes will be up soon ...
